Health Walks in Hartwell

Sat, 02 Jun 2018 11:00

Health Walks in Hartwell aim to provide opportunities for people to take free, easy and beneficial exercise. You don't need any specialist equipment; just dress sensibly for the weather and wear appropriate footwear. There is no need to book; just turn up on the day!

These walks take a circular route of between three and four miles starting from the 'Club' car park finishing at St John the Baptist church for tea and biscuits. We mainly use public footpaths and bridleways only resorting to roads when necessary. Areas visited include Ashton, Roade and Salcey Forest giving a good variety of terrain.

There is no charge to participate, you just have to fill out a short registration form. I have been trained as a walk leader by South Northants Council so that I can lead these walks.

This evening we are once again going to have the pleasure of hearing from one of our favourite speakers. This time it is about a trip to Brazil. They go to such wonderful places in the world and really make them come alive for us with slides and locally sourced trinkets.

New members are very welcome - so don't hesitate to pop along and meet new friends. We meet on the first Thursday of every month.

Hartwell Pocket Park - Tidying Session

Sat, 16 Jun 2018 14:00

Hartwell Pocket Park Tidying Session from 2pm to 4pm

A great way to find out more about our Pocket Park is to come along to one of our tidy up /working party get togethers.

Wet thundery weather has made for rapid growth, so we need to spend some time getting on top of things – weeding, grass cutting, cutting back, checking out the new wild flower beds. A couple of hours in the park on a June afternoon should be a treat and any extra help would be much appreciated.Just come along and join in – you'll be very welcome!

As usual there is plenty of tea and cake to hand.

Tools and gloves are provided
